Elesa+Ganter 11388 HCZ.254 Oil Level Indicator

The Elesa+Ganter 11388 oil level indicator, known as HCZ.254, is a transparent column level indicator designed for larger hydraulic tanks and industrial reservoirs. Its 254 mm centre distance provides a wider visual reading range, making it suitable for systems where minimum and maximum fluid levels must be observed over a larger span.

Material and Technical Design

The HCZ.254 uses a transparent PA-T based technopolymer body. This material is resistant to shocks, oils with additives, solvents, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, petrol derivatives, naphtha and phosphoric esters. The transparent construction supports direct visual inspection, while the column format helps operators identify fluid level changes quickly during routine checks.

This model is part of the standard HCZ range and is generally selected when level visibility is required without integrated temperature measurement. In laboratory testing with mineral oil type CB68 at 23°C, HCZ.254 welded bodies are reported to withstand 12 bar for a limited period. Actual performance should always be checked against the fluid, temperature and pressure conditions of the real application.

Application Advantages

The 254 mm size is particularly useful on larger reservoirs, hydraulic power packs, industrial oil tanks and lubrication systems where a short indicator would not provide enough reading range. It offers a simple, mechanical and easy-to-read solution without relying on electronics.

Elesa+Ganter 11388 FAQ

What is the Elesa+Ganter 11388 HCZ.254 used for?

It is used for visual monitoring of oil level in larger hydraulic reservoirs, lubrication tanks and industrial fluid systems.

Does HCZ.254 include a thermometer?

No. HCZ.254 is a standard oil level indicator without a thermometer. A “T” version should be selected when temperature monitoring is needed.

Why choose the 254 mm version?

The 254 mm centre distance gives a broader reading range, which is helpful on larger tanks where fluid level variation is greater.

Is HCZ.254 suitable for alcohol-based fluids?

The standard HCZ.254 is not the best choice for alcohol-containing fluids or detergents. For such conditions, an AR version should be evaluated.
